Victorious Life Ministries

King's Kids

On Sunday mornings, our King’s Kids program provides children with all the essential elements of “big church” but with an up-tempo, exciting, kid-friendly presentation. Our children are given a Biblical foundation and taught to worship, give, pray, and serve by our King’s Kids ministry team in a way that they can understand and see as fun. Video, puppets, skits, object lessons, games, music, and participation are used to bring a well-rounded experience to this essential segment of our church family. Let your kids experience the adventure of living for Jesus! Why is having a quality children’s program so important to us?

We believe that although God has entrusted children into our care, they still belong to Him and we take the responsibility of training them very earnestly before God. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” [Luke 18:16, NKJV] In our dedication to building that kingdom, we put high priority on providing a variety of programs specially developed for children.

MPACT Girls - Where girls build relationships with God and others

Teaching and caring for our children is a value we hold dear at VLC. Part of the expression of that value is in our belief in age-appropriate Biblical instruction for our children. For our girls, we offer Mpact Girls’ Clubs on Wednesday evenings. This new, exciting curriculum with several different levels for kindergarten through fifth-grade girls is part of a time-honored program from the National Girls Ministries of the Assemblies of God, formerly known as the Missionette program. We want to see our young women grow up with a firm foundation on God’s Word and knowledge of the truth, and are willing to put forth our time and effort to see that happen!

Classes are always open for entry throughout the year, just show up and we’ll help you find the right area for your child’s age group. From Bible memory to snack time, from songs to crafts, our teachers are always ready to provide care and instruction to their girls, whether in Rainbows, Daisies, Prims, or Stars clubs. Our fivefold purpose is:

  1. To win girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance.
  2. To teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded us—developing girls spiritually and mentally.
  3. To provide encouragement, support, and accountability through lasting Christian relationships.
  4. To provide an environment for girls to develop their gifts and abilities.
  5. To acquaint them with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Royal Rangers - Evangelizing, Equipping, and Empowering the next Generation of Christ-Like Men and Life-Long Servant Leaders

Today’s boy is tomorrow’s man. The best time to train a man is while he's still a boy. Our Royal Rangers program offers character and servant leadership education to boys and young men in a highly relational, fun, and interactive environment. Royal Rangers exists to "evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders." The aim is to mentor future men with God’s Word as the guide.

Our current program at VLC focuses on ages 5-12 (but the program can extend through the 12th grade for those that wish it), and takes place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM during Family Night. We place a high value on building godly character into our boys, and the Royal Rangers is a proven program that has been mentoring young men since 1962.

Gravity Youth

Gravity Youth Ministry is dynamic program built and grounded on the Word of God, with high-energy meetings on Wednesday nights, Sunday School classes devoted to the Bible and to the foundations of Christian living, plenty of fun activities and opportunities to just hang out, as well as evangelistic outreaches to support both our church, our missionaries around the world, and our local community. Our meetings include music from the Gravity Worship Band, skits and drama, activities and sports, intense discussion, and powerful teaching that include our youth in ministry even while training them in spiritual maturity.

Gravity is a ministry that goes beyond entertainment and into intimate, relational ministry within the walls of the church and without. Gravity is led by Paul “Shaabyi” Gage and the Gravity ministry team, with care and spiritual oversight given to our teens not only in week-in and week-out personal contact and ministry, but also a full schedule of year-round activities not only for entertainment purposes, but also with the specific goal of spiritual growth. Youth camp, missions trips, participation in the Fine Arts program of the Assemblies of God, concerts, and special activities like the Life of Purity weekend or the Unashamed conference are just some of the events we participate or sponsor throughout the year.

LifeConnect - Eat together, learn together, pray together & serve together

Our small group ministry is a vital part of the overall ministry at VLC. We meet together not only for the mutual support and encouragement that can only be provided in a small, flexible, and informal setting, but as a method of outreach as well. The LifeConnect groups are places where lasting relationships are formed and friends can be made and kept, as we all seek spiritual growth and a greater knowledge of God. The support and accountability that is gained by meeting regularly with a small cadre of other believers is unmatched by any large group meeting at church.

There are four major facets to our LifeConnect system: eat together, learn together, pray together, and serve together. This is a Biblical system used by the early church to build a community of faith even in the midst of persecution. A group that shares food, studies the Bible, prays with and for one another, and goes out and serves their church and community together will build lasting ties to each other while strengthening the church as a whole and making an amazing impact on the larger community around them.

Our small groups meet on Sunday evenings twice per month in various homes during the spring and fall semesters, and set their own schedules for additional fellowship meetings and service projects. People are free to try out different established groups and find one that they are comfortable with (groups are not assigned by the church leadership). Most LifeConnect groups reach a size of 12-15 people before splitting up into two groups and repeating the growth cycle. To get connected, contact us and we’ll help you get started!

Girlfriends

The Women’s Ministry of VLC, known as Girlfriends, has been referred to many times as “encouraging, supportive, uplifting,” and by some even “life-saving.” It encompasses all the women in the church—from single young women to senior saints who can share of their life experience with others. Girlfriends meets monthly to rejoice in victories, share in struggles, pray for strength, and “bear one another’s burdens…” [Galatians 6:2] It’s a wonderful time of food, fun, and fellowship in the atmosphere of praise and the presence of God, whether held at church, in someone’s home, or an alternate venue. Women of all ages come together for the purpose of building community and strengthening relationships, ministering to others, and also just having fun with friends, like on one of our Overnighters, spa days, or shopping trips.

We also focus on a variety of church projects and support ministries including missions, our Mpact Girls’ Clubs, community outreach, special occasions, and holiday events.

Men's Ministries

At VLC, we know that men can just be men, and being a strong Christian doesn’t make you any less, but helps you become more. More what? More wisdom, more spiritual focus and power, more knowledge and mental faculty, more of the truth God offers to those who trust Him…more of what Jesus is. With prayer, accountability, and teamwork, we can become the spiritual leaders that God has designed us to be.

Whether it be a prayer breakfast together on a Saturday morning, a “church workday” to volunteer our maintenance skills, Promise Keepers rallies, our annual Men’s Retreat, or any of several different Affinity Group activities (from golfing to fishing to shooting to computers), our focus is on Jesus and desiring His power to be evident in our lives. [II Corinthians 12:9-10] It’s time to get real, get strong, and get involved.
